As an indispensable product in the chain, the power lithium-ion battery pack has begun to expand rapidly. China can be said to be the most active region in the development of lithium-ion battery packs in the world. At present, the domestic lithium-ion battery pack special equipment industry has formed a certain scale, with more than 100 production companies. However, China's lithium-ion battery pack technology and key raw materials still rely on imports.

  Although China's lithium-ion battery market is thriving, China is not a powerful lithium-ion battery country. At present, China's lithium-ion battery pack industry has the problem of structural overcapacity, that is, insufficient high-end high-quality output and overcapacity at the low-end. Where does the lithium-ion battery pack technology still need to be imported?

  1、 According to the production process of lithium-ion battery packs, lithium-ion battery pack equipment can be divided into front-end equipment, middle end equipment and back-end equipment.

  Front end equipment: foreign equipment has advantages

  Front end equipment is the core equipment of battery manufacturing, which has a great impact on the performance of the cell and is the key to whether the product meets the standard. At present, most of the imported equipment is important. There is a gap in the technology of domestic equipment, including efficiency, accuracy, stability, etc.

  Mid end equipment: the competition center of domestic and foreign equipment

  Domestic equipment in the middle section is replacing imported equipment, and some domestic equipment can already be compared with imported products. The automation rate of the original equipment is improving, and it is in the transition period from semi-automatic to single full-automatic, such as winding machines. The leading intelligence has entered the international first echelon. Due to the advantages of cost performance, most battery manufacturers will choose domestic equipment, but large battery manufacturers, such as BYD and CATL, will still import some from Japan and South Korea.

  Back end equipment: domestic equipment has advantages

  The back-end equipment is relatively simple, and the technical requirements are not high. The gap between China and foreign countries is small, the degree of localization is extremely high, and more competition is concentrated among domestic brands.

  2、 Technical gap of domestic lithium-ion battery pack diaphragm

  The diaphragm is an important part of the lithium ion battery. It is located between the positive and negative electrodes inside the battery, ensuring that lithium ions pass through and hindering electronic transmission. The performance of the separator determines the interface structure, internal resistance, etc. of the battery, which directly affects the capacity, circulation, safety and other characteristics of the battery. The separator with excellent performance has an important use to improve the overall performance of the battery.

  China's lithium-ion battery pack diaphragm has made a major breakthrough in the dry process, and now has the world-class manufacturing level. However, in the field of wet diaphragm, domestic diaphragm companies are limited by many factors such as process and technology, and the product level is still low. The production equipment is mainly imported. The consistency of thickness, strength and porosity of diaphragm products in China is far from that of foreign products, and the consistency of product batches needs to be improved.
