As the cadmium in Nickel–cadmium battery is toxic, the waste battery treatment is complicated and the environment is polluted, so it will be gradually replaced by Ni MH rechargeable battery made of hydrogen storage alloy. In terms of battery power, the same size of NiMH rechargeable battery has about 1.5~2 times more power than Nickel–cadmium battery, and is free of cadmium pollution. Ultra long life, long-life lead-acid batteries have a cycle life of about 300 times, up to 500 times. The best battery cycle life of the Lithium iron phosphate power battery produced can reach more than 2000 times, and the standard charging (5-hour rate) can reach 2000 times. Lead acid batteries of the same quality are "new half a year, old half a year, and maintenance half a year", which is only 1~1.5 years at most, while Lithium iron phosphate battery will be used for 7~8 years under the same conditions. Overall, the cost performance ratio will be more than 4 times that of lead-acid batteries. [9]
Safe use, Lithium iron phosphate completely solves the potential safety problems of lithium cobalate and lithium manganate. Lithium cobalate and lithium manganate will explode under strong collision, posing a threat to the life safety of consumers, while Lithium iron phosphate will not explode even in the worst traffic accident after strict safety testing.
It can quickly charge and discharge at a high current of 2C. With a dedicated charger, the battery can be fully charged within 40 minutes at 1.5C, and the starting current can reach 2C. However, lead-acid batteries do not have this performance.
