Lithium battery separators have not been able to achieve large-scale production in China due to high investment risks and high technical barriers, which has become a bottleneck restricting the development of China's lithium battery industry, especially in the field of power lithium-ion batteries that require higher safety and consistency, It is also an insurmountable obstacle for China to transition from a major producer of lithium batteries to a strong producer of lithium batteries.
The main production processes of lithium battery separators can be divided into two categories: dry method and wet method. Vehicle power batteries have a large capacity and high safety requirements, which also require the separator to have higher strength, liquid retention capacity, and safe temperature. The dry process can adopt a multi-layer composite form. This type of separator has many advantages such as structural safety, uniform pores, good breathability, and high temperature resistance, fully meeting the strict requirements of power lithium batteries. Currently, many power battery manufacturers at home and abroad recognize this type of separator as the application direction of power lithium batteries.
At present, the global lithium battery production capacity is rapidly expanding, and the growth rate of lithium battery separator capacity, which is the main material, is lagging behind. Numerous battery manufacturers have expressed varying degrees of membrane shortage. The improvement of separator material production capacity is not only an urgent requirement for the development of China's lithium battery industry and even the world's lithium battery industry. Therefore, the rapid emergence of more ethnic enterprises with the same material as Xingyuan in China is an important measure to improve the industry chain of China's lithium battery industry, enhance the competitiveness and sustainable development ability of China's lithium battery production enterprises, and is also a key link related to the rapid development of China's new energy vehicle industry.
