  Ternary polymer lithium battery refers to the lithium battery using lithium nickel cobalt manganate (Li (NiCoMn) O2) as cathode material or lithium nickel cobalt aluminate as cathode material, while lithium iron phosphate battery refers to the lithium polymer battery using lithium iron phosphate as cathode material.

  The ternary lithium battery and lithium iron phosphate battery are not absolutely good or bad, but each has its own advantages. Among them, the advantages of the ternary lithium battery lie in the energy storage density and low temperature resistance. First of all, in terms of energy storage density, the energy density of the ternary lithium battery can basically reach 240WH/kg due to its high voltage, almost 1.7 times that of the lithium iron phosphate battery 140WH/kg. Secondly, in terms of low temperature resistance, the low temperature use limit of ternary lithium battery is - 30 ℃, which is more advantageous than the low temperature limit of lithium iron phosphate battery, which is - 20 ℃. At the same time, under the same low temperature conditions, the attenuation of ternary lithium battery in winter is less than 15%, significantly higher than that of lithium iron phosphate battery, which is up to 30%.

  Lithium iron phosphate also has advantages in three aspects. First, it has high safety, because the temperature of lithium iron phosphate battery thermal runaway is generally above 500 degrees; Second, the cycle life is longer, because the lithium iron phosphate battery will start to decay after more than 3500 charging and discharging cycles, which means that its service life can be as long as about 10 years, but the number of charging and discharging cycles of ternary lithium battery is only 2000, which means that its service life is only 6 years, which shows the gap between the two; Third, the manufacturing cost is lower, because lithium iron phosphate battery has no precious metal, so the production cost is lower. On the contrary, ternary lithium battery is different.

  In contrast, the ternary polymer lithium battery has the characteristics of high energy density, low temperature resistance, etc., which are incomparable to the lithium iron phosphate battery. It is better than the lithium iron phosphate battery. In the future of the development of new energy vehicles, the ternary lithium battery can solve the problems of safety and cost, and can be used as a new energy storage device for future vehicles.
