Voltage and capacity of lithium battery

  In electricity, the concepts of voltage and capacity are often used to measure the properties and performance of individual batteries. Generally, the rated voltage of a single dry battery (including alkaline battery) is 1.5V, that of a nickel cadmium battery and a nickel metal hydride battery is 1.2V, and that of a lithium ion battery is 3.6V (the rated voltage of lithium ion batteries produced by some manufacturers is 3.7V), which is equivalent to the voltage obtained by connecting three nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride batteries in series. The voltage of some common non rechargeable lithium batteries is 3V (Figure 7 shows the FUJIFILM for cameras, which is Fuji's CR123A lithium battery).

  Capacity refers to the amount of power stored by the battery. The unit of battery capacity is "mAh", and the Chinese name is milliampere hour (for the convenience of measuring large capacity batteries such as lead batteries, "Ah" is generally used, and the Chinese name is ampere hour, 1Ah=1000mAh). As shown in Figure 4, the rated capacity of the GP super battery is 1300mAh. If the battery is discharged with a current of 0.1C (C is the battery capacity), that is, 130mA, the battery can last for 10 hours (1300mAh/130mA=10h); If the discharge current is 1300mA, the power supply time is only about 1 hour (the actual working time varies depending on the actual capacity of the battery). This is an ideal analysis. The current of a digital device cannot always be constant at a certain value when it is actually working (for a digital camera, the working current will change greatly due to the opening or closing of LCD display, flash and other components). Therefore, the power supply time of the battery to a device can only be an approximate value, which can only be estimated through practical operation experience.

  Because the voltage and capacity of a single battery are very limited, it is generally necessary to use several batteries to form a battery pack to meet the actual power supply needs of different equipment. In digital cameras, the most common battery combination mode is series connection, that is, connect the positive and negative poles of the battery end-to-end. For example, connect four 1.2V and 1300mAh batteries in series to form a 4.8V battery pack with a capacity of 1300mAh; In notebook computers, batteries are generally connected in a mixed way, either in series or in parallel.
