Lithium titanate battery customization is a type of negative electrode material used in lithium-ion batteries - lithium titanate, which can form 2.4V or 1.9V lithium-ion secondary batteries with positive electrode materials such as lithium manganese oxide, ternary materials, or lithium iron phosphate. In addition, it can also be used as a positive electrode to form a 1.5V lithium secondary battery with a metal lithium or lithium alloy negative electrode. Due to the high safety, high stability, long lifespan, and environmentally friendly characteristics of lithium titanate.
It can be foreseen that in 2-3 years, lithium titanate material will definitely become the negative electrode material for the new generation of lithium-ion batteries and be widely used in new energy vehicles, electric motorcycles, and applications that require high safety, high stability, and long cycles. The working voltage of lithium titanate batteries is 2.4V, with a maximum voltage of 3.0V, and a charging current greater than 2C (i.e. twice the battery capacity).
Lithium titanate (LTO) material is used as a negative electrode material in batteries. Due to its own characteristics, the material is prone to interaction with the electrolyte and gas precipitation occurs during the charge discharge cycle reaction. Therefore, ordinary lithium titanate batteries are prone to gas expansion, leading to cell bulging and a significant decrease in electrical performance, greatly reducing the theoretical cycle life of lithium titanate batteries. Test data shows that ordinary lithium titanate batteries will experience bloating after about 1500 to 2000 cycles, resulting in their inability to function properly. This is also an important reason that restricts the large-scale application of lithium titanate batteries.
The improvement of lithium titanate (LTO) battery performance is a comprehensive reflection of the improvement of individual material performance and the organic integration of various key materials. In response to the requirements of fast charging and long service life, in addition to negative electrode materials, other key raw materials for lithium-ion batteries (including positive electrode materials, separators, and electrolytes) were also targeted. Combined with special engineering process experience, a "non inflating" lithium titanate LpTO battery product was ultimately formed, and it was first batch applied in electric buses.
