The charge-discharge energy conversion efficiency of vanadium battery is more than 75%, which is much higher than 45% of lead-acid battery.

  2, long service life: due to the positive active substance and negative active substance of vanadium battery respectively exist in the positive and negative electrolyte, there is no common phase transition of other batteries in the process of charge and discharge, can deep discharge without damage to the battery, the battery has a long service life.

  3. The capacity and power of vanadium battery are relatively independent. In general, the capacity and power of conventional lithium-ion batteries are correlated. If you want to improve one, you should also improve the other; Flow cells can increase capacity by increasing liquid fill and electrolytic liquid volume, and increase system power by increasing battery pack size.

  4, good charge and discharge performance, allowing high power charge and discharge, floating charge and deep discharge. Even if the discharge depth of vanadium battery reaches 100%, it will not affect the battery. In addition, vanadium battery is not easy to short circuit, prevent short circuit caused by explosion and other safety problems. At present, there are many vanadium battery demonstration projects at home and abroad; Overall, vanadium batteries are still in the demonstration stage. More breakthroughs in electrolyte, electrode materials, ion-exchange membranes, battery component assembly technology and battery system assembly technology are needed to enter the industrialization and commercialization stage on a large scale.

  5, many technological breakthroughs of lithium-ion batteries will also spread to vanadium batteries, so as to accelerate the industrialization of vanadium batteries. The cost of vanadium batteries is similar to that of lead-acid batteries. It can also be prepared with a megawatt battery pack to provide high-power electricity for a long time. Therefore, vanadium batteries have incomparable cost-performance advantages in large-scale energy storage fields such as lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries. Vanadium battery has the advantages of simple production process, economical price and excellent electrical performance. Vanadium batteries are more competitive than complex and expensive fuel cells for large-scale energy storage and electric vehicle power applications.
