Five Ways to Activate Rechargeable Lithium Batteries

  Here are five better ways to save these rechargeable lithium batteries. Please note that most are not 100% successful. If you have strong hands-on ability, you can try as described in this article.

  1. Progression method. Another normal voltage 12 volt battery is connected in series to the entire battery. For example, if the original vehicle is a 48v-20ah battery, we will connect another 12v-20ah battery in series. The voltage of a fully charged 12V battery is approximately 13V. After being connected in series, the voltage of the whole group of batteries can be increased, and then the original charger can be used for charging. In this way, the electricity can be charged. After the charger is plugged in, the charger is red and can be charged at this time. When the charger turns green, remove other batteries in series. Then charge normally.

  2. Parallel methods. This method is a bit troublesome. For example, the primary battery of the vehicle is 48v-20ah, and we also have a group of 48v-20ah batteries in parallel. As we all know, the voltage in parallel circuit is equal, and the high voltage end will flow into the low voltage end. Many battery dealers also use this method to detect batteries that have no electricity at all. Then charging can also achieve the purpose of charging. This principle is similar to that of a series battery. It also increases the voltage of the entire group.

  3. Low voltage charging method. Select a small charger to charge. For example, if it is a group of 60v-20ah batteries, we use a 48v-20ah charger to charge it. In this way, it can be filled in in most cases. This principle is similar to the first principle, which makes the charging voltage closer to the voltage at both ends of the battery.

  4. Single battery charging method. Charging a single battery with a 12V motorcycle charger can activate the battery, but the charging speed is relatively slow. Generally speaking, charging takes more than 7 hours, and the battery voltage will slowly rise to about 12V. If all single blocks are charged, it will take a lot of time.

  5. Special charger method. Tianneng charger automatically recognizes battery voltage. No matter how many volts a battery has, it can automatically recognize the voltage and charge it. For example, the original car had a 60v-20ah battery, but now its voltage is less than 30V. It can still be charged in. With the increase of voltage, it can fully adapt to high-order voltage and charge the battery. Tailing, Lujia electric vehicles and Jinpeng tricycles are equipped with chargers of this brand. In addition, how to activate the "hungry" lithium battery? The activation of notebook battery or mobile phone battery is called "power ruler calibration" on Lenovo power management software. When Everest is used to detect the power supply on the PC side, there is a "design capacity" followed by a "full charging capacity". If the values of the two items are the same, you will see that the "Battery Loss" item above is 0%; Generally speaking, the "full charging capacity" of the battery that has just left the factory or has not been maintained in time for a long time will be less than the "design capacity", and you will see that the battery loss is 1%. This means that the battery is not "fully charged". We need to "fully charge and discharge" (continue to charge for more than 12 hours after full discharge) to fully "develop" the "potential" of the battery. This process of fully charging and discharging is called "activating the battery". Lenovo ThinkPad and other power management software have a "power calibration" with similar functions and principles. I think some old technology batteries, such as nickel metal hydride batteries, need to be activated. Lithium battery theory needs to be strengthened, because it needs to form a SEI protective layer on the negative electrode. However, this process has been completed in the production and testing phases. Personally, I think consumers' misunderstanding of battery leads to this kind of service. Your cell phone battery is "hungry". If you run out of power, you can't start the machine to charge. You need to activate it! First of all, hunger is the phenomenon that the battery cannot be recharged when it is dead or low. Then, there are two ways to activate it: one is to use universal charging for about 20 minutes. The other is to provide the mobile phone repair shop with a professional power supply with a slightly higher voltage, such as 12 V activation. Specifically, place the positive and negative poles of the power supply on the positive and negative poles of the battery for tens of seconds or even minutes, and power it on! Finally, after activation, you can use direct charging as before. It is not clear whether it will have a significant impact on the service life. Charge with the instrument. (If the above methods fail and the battery is free of failure, the "regulated power supply" shall be used to activate, the black wire shall be connected to the negative pole of the battery, the red wire shall be connected to the positive pole of the battery, and the charging voltage can reach 3.8V). For devices using lithium batteries, it is unnecessary to charge for 12 hours for the first time!
