Difference between lead-acid battery and lithium battery

  1. First, the performance of lithium battery is different from that of lead acid battery. The plates of lead-acid batteries are mainly made of lead and its oxides. The electrolyte of the batteries is filled with sulfuric acid solution. Lithium battery is made of metal lithium or lithium alloy as cathode material and water-insoluble electrolyte solution as filling material.

  2. The price of lead-acid battery is different from that of lithium battery, because lithium battery is the battery with the best heat dissipation and environmental protection performance. Therefore, the manufacturing process and maintenance in the later stage of sealing are much higher than those of lead-acid batteries.

  3. Lead acid batteries and lithium batteries use different materials. When the lead-acid battery works, the internal reaction is mainly that the positive pole is decomposed into lead dioxide, and the negative pole is mainly decomposed into lead. Therefore, during charging, the positive electrode mainly decomposes lead sulfate. However, if the lead-acid battery is often not fully charged, it is easy to vulcanize.

  Lithium battery mainly decomposes manganese dioxide under working condition, and its negative electrode is mainly lithium metal or synthetic metal. The non electrolyte solution is used, so there will not be too many other components during charging, and at most some oxygen and carbon dioxide will be produced.
