Lithium ion secondary batteries. The lithium-ion secondary battery typically includes an electrode assembly, a container containing the electrode assembly, and an electrolyte. The electrode assembly includes two electrodes with opposite polarity and a separator. The separator includes a porous membrane containing ceramic particle clusters. In the 1970s, people made disposable lithium batteries out of lithium, and in 1990, SONY Company first launched lithium-ion secondary batteries (usually referred to as lithium-ion batteries) in the market. With the rapid development of mobile communication and the popularity of notebook computers in recent years, lithium-ion batteries have rapidly replaced nickel cadmium and Nickel–metal hydride battery as the most popular high-energy batteries. At present, the mass specific capacity of commercial lithium-ion batteries is approximately 80-130mAh ・ g-1, with a cycle life of over 500-1000 cycles. It is expected to reach over 160mAh ・ g-1 by 2005. Lithium ion batteries also have good application prospects in electric vehicles. Solid polymer lithium-ion batteries and plastic lithium-ion batteries with ultra-thin, ultra-light, and high energy density have also been developed and are beginning to enter the market
